the offer of a plot

Our friend Sue contacted us about the allotments wondering if we had secured one as she hadnt heard from us in a while. We spoke to Tracy the site secretary for Green Lane and it appears she had been trying to contact us, but due to faulty telephone lines she couldnt get hold of us so the plot she had was given to someone else :-(

But 10 days later Tracy rang us to offer us a plot yipee, me and the kids went to view it and we signed up immediately.  It needed a bit of work , it was overgrown with grass but I loved it.  Half a plot was big enough for us begginers and we went home very very happy.

The next day me and the kids set off to start the big clear up but when we got there the grass was gone, I panicked thinking maybe its previous owner had come back and cleared it up because they didnt want to lose it.  So me and the kids sat in the car and ate our picnic till eventually I got hold of Tracy who said my kind neighbour Andy had strimmed it for me - Thanks Andy x

The plot is in good shape we have been lucky and we are getting there slowly but surely.
We now have a shed for our stuff but more importantly Lester has his portable cooker for his brews.

We have dug over the beds already there and are now planning what to grow this autumn, the kids love it down there and so do we , peace and quiet.  Whats even better is that the plotters are really friendly, helpful , kind and genuine people.

So heres to our own grown eventually , no more supermarket rubbish and my kids will grow up with values
